Position title: Assistant Director of Grant and Research Development


Current Role

Adam Paulsen is currently supporting SHOW by working with the SHOW team to identify new avenues for continuing SHOW’s research and to collaborate with other researchers at UW and beyond to broaden the reach and use of SHOW resources. This will include writing grant proposals with SHOW investigators as well as investigators across disciplines to leverage SHOW resources to achieve research goals and to impact disease prevention and health policy strategies to improve public health. Adam will also assist the SHOW team with management of the SHOW biorepository, supervision, and leadership of ancillary studies coordination, communication and marketing of SHOW services, and scientific direction and guidance for the SHOW program.

Past experience

Prior to joining SHOW, Adam spent 12 years working on 2 Wisconsin-based cohort studies of chronic disease and aging. In this position, Adam worked on all stages and aspects of these community-based observational epidemiological studies, including grant planning and writing, study coordination and supervision, examination staff training, primary data collection, data cleaning, and analysis, and dissemination of results through presentations at scientific meetings and publication in scientific journals.
