Description: WARRIOR was the first study of stool microbiome data collected from the SHOW cohort in 2016 and 2017 (n=713). In 2017, SHOW established the Population-based Microbiome Research Core (PMRC) (n=323) with support from the Microbiome Initiative from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education. The PMRC is a unique resource at UW-Madison to complete client-driven microbiome research investigation. Samples to date include repeat stool, nasal, skin, and oral swabs, collected in 2016 and 2018. PMRC collected for the first time environmental samples, including outdoor soil, household dust, water, and swabs of high-touch household surfaces for microbiome analysis beginning in 2018.
